Waterkefir, a probiotic drink!

For several weeks I am the proud owner of Waterkefir grains. I think it's great! I drink almost half a liter per day Waterkefir. It tastes so incredibly nice and fresh, I can not wait until the summer, sit in the garden in the sun with a glass of iced Waterkefir that smells like fresh lemons hmmmmm.

Waterkefir is good for intestinal bacteria

Whatever is so fine, it really is a super healthy drink! Waterkefir is indeed extremely beneficial for intestinal bacteria as living symbiotic organisms that feed on sugars and convert that into a tangy and slightly sparkling taste so incredibly good for your intestines, a bit like kombucha, which is still on my list to try!
Today we eat way too much fermented foods and we eat a lot of processed and cooked food which our intestinal flora is not always quite right. And correct your gut flora so important, as you will build strength and your intestines are in direct connection with your brains and have it also affects, your state of mind and the like.

Waterkefir is easy to make

What is also so very fine, that kefir lemonade so incredibly easy to make yourself. You've got a number of basic kitchen stuff needed such as a plastic sieve, a jug, a preserving jar and bottle to keep the lemonade with it in the fridge and fresh lemons, dried fruits and (palm) sugar. Oh and the main course Waterkefir grains, or you can get someone who is talking about (because they grow and multiply and then you have at one time too many grains) or through for example marketplace.

How do you make it?

1) You fill in a preserving jar with waterkefirkorrels (about 100 grams) with 1 liter of water.
2) You then do it 3 tablespoons sugar, I'm using palm sugar, half a lemon, and 3 or 4 dried fruits: figs, apricots or raisins for example.
3) You put 24 to 48 hours in the cozy windowsill in the sun (without sun is fine but then they grow more slowly), and after that time you pour it off. The beads go back into the preserving jar where you prosecuted the same ritual again. The dried fruit you throw away the lemon squeezer you into the lemonade and lemonade put your cool so that you can drink. Refreshing cold in the fridgeSimple right?
4) where you need to take care is that kefirkorrels can not stand metal / iron, so all glass or plastic! And ensure that they do not come into contact with filth or soap or anything else, they are extremely sensitive. So therefore I do not touch them even by hand, always with a plastic spoon I create them over and over again. Also use rather unsulfided dried fruits and organic lemons, all those chemicals are not good for you Waterkefir. Are you in possession of a water purifier you can add purified water instead of plain tap water.
Note: If you temporarily do not want Waterkefir or can, then put the Waterkefir in a saucer in the fridge, but they brought it to the day with sugar. Whether you freeze them for example if you are going on holiday, so they can not feed. I always have an extra stash in my freezer grains were suddenly no longer do it.

Taste of Waterkefir

As I wrote Waterkefir tastes slightly bubbly for lemons and has a bitter sour taste, but a nice fresh taste as well. My husband takes a little getting used to, but drinking sometimes a glass of cola, so this is pretty different huh! I thought it was all very tasty anyway.
Variation tips: You can taste the Waterkefir somewhat influenced by example, instead of water, coconut water use or tea. Of coconut water your grains are also a good growing yet! Or instead of lemon you add orange or grapefruit in. And of course you can vary the dried fruit.
